I got colored-pencil-crazy for a couple days, and this is one of the pictures I drew. I also used watercolor over it. This picture was made possible by the helpful reference pictures at F.A.R.P. (great now I sound like a commercial) Anyways...um... pretty colors.

HOT!!!!
This is so cool!!
I love how he (she?) is so poised on his (her?) target.
Very realistic-looking (sort of)...
Um in an anime-y sort of way.
Ok, it's great and don't mind my inane babble...ing........

Guy who is out of the picture: Jorn? What are you doing?
Jorn: Well, Ned, you know that guy who I told you was bothering me earlier?
Ned: Yes but I don't se... oh...

Pipmeister: Great pic Becky!
Jorn: Who the hell are you?
(Scream sounds in distance)
Pipmeister:...Uh, I have to leave now(runs really really fast.)

1 Rebecca M. Roberts replies: "Thanks alot Pip! I hope summer's treating you well!"

Nice job especially on his right forearm and hair. You've got a great style. My only crit is that the folds on his shirt seem to be pretty randomly placed. It's a little distracting, but overall, this is really impressive.

1 Rebecca M. Roberts replies: "Thank you very much! And for the criticism! I'll try to work on making the clothing look more realistic."

His hair is simply wonderful.
Watercolor over color pencil, eh? I'll be trying that one...

WOWZA!!! This is amazing!! Like I said before, how do you color this so well? And how do you do the archers so well?

I want his shirt. All the archery stuff the guy (girl?) above said is pretty much true. And trust me the string HURTS. but art wise it's very good. I like his hair and his shirt and his expression and....

Shutting up now.. I think you get the point. Great colouring! Simple is beautiful.

I love the colors, gives it a sort of irish feel. And those arms are near perfect. He seems so serious and focused on the target at first, but then I notice that he really has no intention of shooting.

First he did not pull to full draw (the string would be near the corner of his mouth, about where his wrist is for a full powered shot).

Second he is holding the arrow in front of the fletching rather than the string, and if he does release, not only would his shot go wild, but would hurt him as much as what it hit. Although, he has the proper positioning of the fingers for a 3 finger draw, you just need to move them back so that they can pull the string with the first knuckle (you even have the pinky and thumb right, except that the string would be in front of the pinky when it rests against the other 3 fingers). Most people let the arrow knock between the fingers with one above and two below as you have it, but some prefer 2 above 1 below (a few even use a 4 finger draw, but I find that it throws me off too much when I shoot).

Third, those dangling strings on his bracelet could cause him some problems when they get tangled in the bowstring. I guess it might not hurt as bad as getting your long beard caught in the string, but he really should tuck them in just to be sure they don't throw off his aim and possibly damage the bow or bracelet.

In fact he might want to invest in a leather bracer for his left arm; I can tell you from experience after the string hits your wrist a couple times (and it will), it tends to get sore. Oh and if there isn't an arrow shelf cut into the other side of that bow to rest the arrow on, he might want to get himself a glove as well. The fletching can slice pretty good as it flies across the hand (you wouldn't think a feather could cut, but it will; kinda like a really long and deep papercut). I guess he could just glue on a small rest, but that would mess up the smooth lines of a beautiful bow.

But I bet he sure gave that drunk dwarf second thoughts, eh?

Hmmm, this one doesnt have as much movement and action as your little sketch of an archer did. How is that? It just looks a little stiff to me.

Sweet. Kind of reminds me of this Robin-Hood show I watch on BBC America on Saturday nights. And Pipmeister is right: GREAT PIC BECKY!!!
