| I thought of the first line right before bed. Truly I amaze myself right before I sleep, but usually forget by the time I wake up. |
|
He rose as if asleep still,
Lumbering down a hall eternal.
And the fires on the wall
Cast a heated light unto
Death.
His eyes stared as if blind,
Gazing forever into dusk.
And the fires on the wall
Cast shadows,
Into the night.
His hands reached as if towards life,
Grasping at Light.
And the fires on the wall
Blazed with the strength of a thousand suns,
But shadows still lurked.
He stopped as if caught,
Hands grasping Light,
Eyes in the shadows.
And lived a half-life.
