the best of fantasy is distinguished from science fiction only by being set in a different universe then our own. one that has its own natural laws, different from those of our own, but still consistent within itself.
the best of science fiction is distinguished from our own everyday life only by taking some concept or condition that does not currently exist and projecting its implications in a story telling scenario, while remaining consistent with what we think we know about our own universe and how it works.

| 23 Jan 2005 | E. Torrens | Loading...Cool! He reminds me a little of the robot-type-thing in the second Wizard of Oz film whose name I've forgotten. I think it's just his round head - so cute! | |
| 30 May 2010 | Jeanette M Thomas | Loading...This is so adorable - I’m going to HAVE to check out the world4mysheep.com site. It seems to be perhaps thinking there is a kinship with the hot-air baloon outside the window/porthole.
Ms/Mr E. Torrens - I think you are referring to what I remember as ’Tik-Tok - the clockwork man" (see Wikipedia). The resemblence was strong enough to jog my ancient memory. I don’t remember a 2nd WoOz film. He was in one of the original Oz book series along with many other fantastical creatures like the Patchwork girl, the Saw-horse, the glass cat with the pink heart, etc. That series really opened the doors of fantasy for me. | |
