Some of you might have recognized that title. Yes, this pic was based on that beautiful Peter Benchley book. Itīs not that of a great picture, but i just had to include it here, because i loved this book ! For those who didnīt read it, itīs a story about a teenage girl who lives in a remote island, far away from all modern civilization, and sheīs considered an excentric, because instead of behaving like all the women in the island, learning to cook and taking care of the husband, she spends all day at sea, exploring it inside a little boat made out of a log, wich was built by her father before he died. Then one day she meets a giant Manta ray fish. (No this is not Free Willy part 54, this is realy a beautiful book). Go get it. Itīs simplicity at its best in form of a tale. Thatīs why i also decided to keep the pic simple... Oh, and if you loved the movie The Big Blue, by Luc Besson and you also love the sea, then you MUST read this book.

Nice sense of movement in the water. This looks like it should be animated. Great pic!

It is adorble. I too love the sea. Okay, our peoples love the sea. Portuguese and Brazilians can't live far from the sea. do you remember "Navegar é precise, viver não é preciso" I love this motto. It is from school of Sagres, isn't it? your drawing and clour are wonderful.

Great I've seen 4 other pics based on the book and all of them had the girl with brown or black hair as if they don't clearly state her hair was bleached almost honey blonde from the salt water and sun....geesh! Anyway I'm done ranting, good pic. You're a wonderful artist keep it up.

Of ALL your pics this one really grabbed me.Maybe it's because my late brother loved the sea and surf,or maybe because I have a side of me that connects with the sea..
