| 9 Apr 2004 | Sam H. Wood | Loading...Wow! Wondermaful Gallery! Brilliant name too! "Leila"! Really really wondermaful! Leila Tyliri Wood. replies: "Thankee! I've always been fond of the name Sam, myself, but perhaps it's a consequence of rampant Tolkienism... " | |
| 21 May 2004 | Erin A. Thead | Loading...Oooh... another Tolkien artist! (BTW, there is *nothing* wrong with being obsessed with Lord of the Rings or anything else that the Professor did.) Your art has a glow to it that I have found difficult to achieve with the media you use, so I usually take the slacker's way out (CG). I think I like Lúthien and Smaug the Magnificent best, but they are all very good. Keep drawing! Leila Tyliri Wood. replies: "Thank you. Hmm... I would say the key to that "glow" is a mixture of highly contrasting colours, the use of coloured pencils (little blending, and as such no "mud" colours) and slight colourblindness which makes me use hues which are a bit more bold than most people would dare use. Your images have a lovely glow and impressive colouring as well, particularly Yavanna." | |
| 20 Jun 2004 | Becky Carter-Hitchin | Loading...Leila!!!! I didn't know you were on here. This is Atalante from John Howe's site by the way Well what to say, you already know I love your pictures - I really do, especially the pic of Elanor Leila Tyliri Wood. replies: "*Blushes.* Thankee, Atalante! Everyone, this is my hero in colouring and Celtic artwork... Do visit her page. Her work is amazing, and that's not something I say lightly. Have you ever considered submitting your Silmarillion images for a Tolkien Calendar, Becky? Anyhoo... I wonder how many Howers are here? I think it might be time to make a Tour. *Grins and rubs her hands together at the idea.*" | |

| 29 Jul 2005 | Peter Xavier Price | Loading...Beautiful Tolkien paintings here, Leila. I really like your take on his creations, and it's nice to see someone inspired by the beauty of his books. A lovely gallery to have stumbled upon indeed! Leila Tyliri Wood. replies: "The Peter Xavier Price? Commenting on my gallery? *Grins widely, then bows.* I'm honoured! I have admired your work for quite some time now. Very reminiscent of Alan Lee's. Your version of Túrin is a favourite of mine. Thank you for stopping (or stumbling, as it were) by, and commenting as well." | |
| 10 Sep 2005 | Dawn Jane Holliday | Loading...You have a wonderful gallery, with a very calming feel to it.. I named my rabbit Leila, I think it is a beautiful name. Apparently it means 'born at night' or 'dark as the night' | |
