| 1 Apr 2004 | Jessica L. Stachyra | Loading...Beautiful colors! I love how u drew this!! Very cool ^_^ Anne-Marie S. Lemieux replies: "Thank you very much! It looks much better in real life, I guess that's why most of the stuff on elfwood is either painted or done with Photoshop" | |
| 3 Apr 2004 | Wendy Maree Peterson | Loading...You know, this is the first painting I've seen where someone has portrayed a snake sympathetically. I had an interesting experience with one as a child, and I've liked them ever since. I'm convinced they're not the killing machines some people think. I really like the intelligence and the gentleness shown by this chap's expression. And, of course, I admire his brightly coloured scales. I love the way his tail is jumbled about in such a great pattern of colour and shapes, too. Anne-Marie S. Lemieux replies: "Thanks! I'd love to take credit for his expression, I really would. But this snake relies heavily on inpiriation from my 'idol' Amano. And I agree with what you say about snakes. They're some of the most beautiful creatures on earth. My sister owns a python, and the feel of it's skin is softer than silk. They've always fascinated me. I'm glad it could give you some pleasure. " | |

| 7 May 2004 | France G. Trudel | Loading...Wow this I like very much nice colors and pose..but the orm look sad..*sniff* ^_^ keep it up. Pas mal beau, j'aimes celui ci beaucoup pour les couleurs et les poses. Mais il a l'aire un peu atrister. Anne-Marie S. Lemieux replies: "Lol, thanks France. I started to read what you wrote in French, was trying to translate, but then I realized you already had ^_^'''. I may have the name, but I don't really speak a word of French. I dropped it after grade nine. I guess if I lived in Quebec, it'd be different. Well, it's nice to hear from a true Quebecois (I'm sure I completely messed that up). I have family there, and I've made frequent trips to Ottawa during my life time. Au revoir, et merci beaucoup!" | |
| 25 Jan 2005 | Dragn luvr | Loading...I love the eye!! Such a sense of warmth, caring and wisdom! I love it!! Anne-Marie S. Lemieux replies: " glad it affected you so...but I can't lie, I totally stole the design of that eye from Amano, my idol, so I can't take any credit. You want the real thing? Go look at his stuff! Google 'yoshitaka amano' and you'll find it, no problem." | |
| 23 May 2005 | Helen | Loading...The colors are so cool. They remind me of Chinese New Years. He/she looks so sad and pretty. If I ever get a snake, I'd want one like that. Anne-Marie S. Lemieux replies: "Oh dude, if you could get a snake that colour, I'd die. That'd be wicked! Well, who knows, they say the Amazon hasn't been completely charted yet...mabey there's more out there! Let's hope so. Thanks for your comment!" | |
| 10 Jun 2005 | C. Clayton | Loading...Ooops, I forgot to ask is this done with Prismacolors? If so it would look even better blended... if you care to see what I'm talking about. I have a piece or two up that might illustrate what I mean. ("Gin (Silver)" & "The Black Maiden" ) Once again Best to y', C | |
| 10 Jun 2005 | C. Clayton | Loading...I really like the bold choice of vibrant colors... some folks choose such colors to attract the eye to their work when it lacks other features to attract attention. I don't get that vibe off this one... anyhoo, I like the little teasing bit of detail around the eye I would have liked to see more in the rest of the piece. Keep at it I think you have more to share. Unrelated... I caught site of your portrait, and was compelled to mention; you have an exquisite jawline. Most women are not thusly blessed. I hope you have many successes ...in your art and all the other parts of your life, C Anne-Marie S. Lemieux replies: "Hey Clayton, finally got around to answering comments here - *slaps own wrist* - my art life has unfortunately had to take a back seat in the last while, but anyway! I'm very happy with the way the colours turned out on this one, and the truth is, I had no idea it would happen. Growing up, I always loved having cherry canes at Christmas, and they had the same colours as this orm, so I'm reminded of that candy whenever I look at this picture, on some subconscious level - mabey the cherry cane actually influenced these colours - that would be interesting. As for your compliment on my portrait, thank you very much. I never really thought much of my jawline, but now I look at it differently I'll drop by your page later today, to see what work you've been up to. Bless!" | |
