It showed me, first, that these two creatures would follow this girl wherever, and that she was either angry, or ungrateful of them. then, I thought of the stalker idea, I personally prefer the first one though. Anne-Marie S. Lemieux replies: "I was going for more of a sad, tired look from the girl, but those thoughts definately work for where the picture comes from."
| 10 Apr 2004 | Anonymous | Loading..."Leave me alone, I'm getting tired...go away so I can get some rest...please.." She looks awful weary! This kinda reminds me of the artwork you see in "where the wild things are"..just the sketchy feel of it, and the way the girl's face is drawn. Your concept is great, and the bg itself, though blank, somehow adds to the picture. I'm glad you didn't add anything there . This would make a killer finished product. Anne-Marie S. Lemieux replies: "I liked your narration, there. I actually have a cousing who's an illustrator, Michelle Lemieux, and she made this book called "Stormy Night" (I lost my copy) and the style there is similar to mine. This is one of my top favorites, and I'd DEFINATELY love to do a finished version of it. I think it might get done this summer. thanks for commenting!" | |

This just doesn't need to be busy, less is more, eh? Anne-Marie S. Lemieux replies: "Hi Amy, thanks for commenting on this one. I'm really attached to it and since it's not one of my more developed pieces, it often gets overlooked. I agree, I do like it without a background and it makes sense because it's just a little sketch "

I mean, that's how it feels some times, that you have monsters behind you all the time... Great pic in many ways, sad, but great. Anne-Marie S. Lemieux replies: "Hi Sophie, sorry I didn't get to your comment sooner...my poor neglected gallery, my poor neglected commenters...I'm afraid sometimes external events make my artwork take a back seat. Anyways, yeah...the thing about comments I find is that words can be interpreted differently than meant from the one who spoke them, so I really wish I was in your head so I knew exactly where you were coming from. That aside, of course, I can gather some of your meaning at least, a good, sufficient amount - I just always crave more than the average joe I'm happy that it was able to move you so, and honoured to be noticed by such a talented eye too. Thanks Sophie!"
| 5 Sep 2007 | Anonymous | Loading...I don't know about Sophie, but you certainly got inside my head - how'd you do that? Only a simple sketch, but so potent an image! I've seen your other work and your other comments here, and I'm glad you have a passion for your art because your pen (or brush, or whatever) speaks for those like me who can't even draw stick figures...thanks artist! | |
