Now, oddly enough, I would agree with you that seemingly the neck would need more depth, because there's usually a great degree of shadowing in that area. But this is exactly how my model-reference looked, due to the fact that her head is tipped back, and there is a bright light shining directly on her face and the front of her neck. I was torn between painting what I thought it should look like, and what I actually saw, and I chose the latter.

I love the background too, very textured. Oh, and I'm stoked about the feature that lets me know when you update. It's awesome! Thanks, Mandy. I'm happy that you like her.

It is appropriately shadowed for a direct lighting situation.. The level of shadow you have now looks pretty amazing. I envy your ability to capture fabric. That’s next on my list of "I need to understand this better!" I’ve really enjoyed your gallery, but I must say I didn’t know that I’ve enjoyed it for so long. I ran into your elven princess pic ages ago and fell in love with it. This one as well conveys so much more than just the concept stated. There’s a depth of emotion to your work that I’ve not often seen in other places. Amazing!
