Norma Peters

I've been a member of Elfwood since 1999.  I've been influenced by many artists and many styles - Dante Gabriel Rossetti, Aubrey Beardsley, Edward Burne-Jones, Gustav Klimt, John William Waterhouse, and Alphonse Mucha, to name only a few, and artistic movements such as Art Nouveau, the Pre-Raphaelites and  the Symbolists. I've drawn since I was old enough to hold a pencil, and started oil painting when I was 12. I've worked in many media, but for the last several years, I've been concentrating almost exclusively on digital art, using Corel Painter (version 10, at the moment) and a Wacom tablet (Intuos2, 6 X 8).

All the paintings that  you see in this gallery are digital. Unfortunately, Elfwood has its anti-digital contingent, who proclaim that digital artists are 'a dime a dozen,'  that "all digital art looks exactly the same," and  that a digital piece apparently takes about ten minutes to accomplish. On the contrary, much care and effort and a large number of hours have gone into the making of each picture in this gallery.

Unfortunately, I no longer do requests. I have a busy life off the Net, and I also need time to do personal artwork.

I have been working noncommercially for some years with paint shop pro and I am a writer of tutorials, to show others the possibilities of this software. I am alway searching for pictures and artwork to use or for tubing.. I am creating beautiful new things from them, but strictly for private use, just for the fun of it and not to make money.. Now I would like to ask for Your permission to use Your art work for my tutorials and in my group? To show You what I create, I am attaching parte of one of my tutorials to this mail. As a rule, I am always adding not only a copyright notice from known artists but also a backlink to their website. I am a self publishing author, and my next book, i was looking to have an image of a Banshee on the cover. Your vision of the banshee is so absolutely what i was looking for,I was wondering if you consider selling rights to use your work like on my next’s book’s cover I may edit it a bit, but I love it. I will give you credit for your work, but I work more with words not art, I could never create anything like you have.
