SciFi and Fantasy Art The Phoenix Gown (Revisited) by Norma Peters

For Kristin Rausch's Lunar fanfiction, 'If Love Were Only Part of the Equation.' This is the *finished* version of an unfinished painting by Nash. When first seen in the story, it is a work in progress. The portrait is of Mia, in her 'phoenix dress,' and consumed by flames. Rising behind her is the phoenix, possibly symbolic of her rising above all her obstacles. All of Nash's feelings for her are shown through this picture. Medium: Corel Painter 6.

The character, Mia, is derived from the Working Designs RPG, Lunar, the Silver Star.

4 Jul 2007	Lottie jones	Loading... This reminds me very much of the cover of a book written by Mercedes Lackey. I think it's called Phoenix and Ashes, but I could be wrong. I love the black and red-gold color scheme.Thank you. I'm not familiar with the book, but I just looked it up. It's interesting to note that I painted this picture two years before the book was published.

The colours are very warm you can almost feel the warmt of the wings from the Phoenix, also the dress is awesome, what kind of program dit you use yo draw this? it looks so smooth and shiny great job, i think i like this one the most from all your drawings Norma Peters replies: "Thank you so much. I’m glad you like it. This picture was done a number of years ago, but was uploaded in a small file size, because at that time there were severe restrictions on the sizes of pictures at Elfwood. When those restrictions were changed, I decided I’d upload a larger version of the picture. At the time I did this picture, I believe I was using Corel Painter 6."
