SciFi and Fantasy Art Marionette by Jennifer Petitte

I love this picture. Do you know why? Well... This picture got me out of my 2 week drawing block! YAY!!! All you artists out there who have ever had drawing block know how absolutely *frustrating* it is!!! Anyway... This piccie was a sort of challenge, because I really wanted curly hair... And i had never done it before. But i think that it turned out very well! Also, I am glad that i pulled off the pose. As for a story... well all i can say is that its a real person whos wearing a white mask with a face painted on it. I might do a color version of this someday...When i have time.

13 Aug 2004	Mel	Loading... I absolutely LOVE this drawing. It is an absolutely beautiful work of art. I am a huge fan of marionettes, and I want to fill my room with them. They are creepy yet amazingly beautiful. In fact, I just wrote a song about marionettes called "Carionette" and I used to be a ballet dancer, so this is just awe-inspiring in a very personal way. I'm in love with it. I also love the feel of symbolism here, the masks, the strings. sigh what can i say? It's exquisite.
