| 7 Sep 2002 | Michael K. Cole | Loading...The composition and the design work is very strong here, and that is probably why people like this one the best (of your Excalibur series). I know I do. Likewise, the contrast between the light and dark areas is very effective. Good job! Noora Peura replies: "(Sorry for the late reply, I've been too busy...)Thanks! I like this one best, too. It's better than the pencil one, and the Bryce Excalibur is really just a "doodle" (if you can call a Bryce image a doodle...). Still, I'm not all happy with it (even though I can't put my finger on the problem), so there might still be more Excaliburs coming " | |
| 30 Nov 2002 | Arthur Pendragon | Loading...Very good picture! just one mistake. Excalibur wasnt the sword in the stone, it was the sword held out by the Lady of the Lake in the Lake of Arroy. Noora Peura replies: "Well, there are several "versions" of the Arthurian Legends. According to the ones I have read, Uther Pendragon got Excalibur from the Lady of the Lake (with the help of Merlin), then thrust it into a stone (sometimes throught an anvil, sometimes not) at his death. Arthur pulled it out and was acknowledged as Uther's son. In some versions Arthur messed up and lost the sword, and got it back from the Lady of the Lake again. I don't think there is any "right" or "wrong" in this case. It all depends on which version of the story you have read." | |
