SciFi and Fantasy Art Challenger from north by Panu Hakkarainen

"So Rana! We meet at last. I have traveled far from north to defend the honor and fame of us buxom, scantly clothed warrior babes. I accept your challenge. Draw your sword. We will fight to the death..."

The idea to this picture derived from Maxine Coxs picture "Rana". In her picture Maxine made Rana to challenge all those big breasted bikini-clad female warriors. Although I usually like to clothe my warrior females to steel as well, I liked the idea to draw a challenger to Rana. The challenger is a nord warrior from cold plains. Nords are almost resistant to cold and can draw magic powers from their totem-animals. With these powers it is possible to them to transform to that same animal and fight with their strenght and ferocity. In this particular case she has magical capabilities to transform to wolf or to a bear.

Hopefully she is a "worthy" challenger. As you can see she is "appropriately" clothed and equipped as any "bikini-babe" would be. ;o)

The small touches of detail such as the tied paws and the foot steps in the snow are truly very skillful. You've really nailed the perspective too as the sword shows. Many thanks for going to the effort of creating this piece. You really have presented a worthy challenger! As a couple of my characters have stood shoulder to shoulder with Rana in various battles I have come to appreciate that it is unwise for any male to interfere in a cat fight. I'd certainly leave your creation to it. Well done! Panu Hakkarainen replies: "Thanks for commenting my "nord babe". I tried to make her anatomy as correct as possible but still keep the feeling of a comic style drawing. I also wanted the lines to be clean and simple. And you noticed the sword angle! ) And yes, we males should stay out of the cat fights and just enjoy the sights ;o) "

1 Nov 2008	Philip John Talbot	Loading... i went out in the snow in shorts and a t-shirt once, it was not pleasant. gotta admire the strength of a gal who can wear THAT in the snow. groovy pic, ike the pose and the facial expression Panu Hakkarainen replies: "Glad you liked my Nord-gal. I must say that I am also satisfied about how her pose tooks shape. What comes to her "clothing"... well, we Finns do not walk in the streets dressed like that during winter but I have rolled totally naked in the snow banks during SAUNA baths. Yeah, we Finns are crazy! "
3 Nov 2008	Philip John Talbot	Loading... wow, i have to go to finland lol. and i thought the dutch were crazy! Panu Hakkarainen replies: "By all means. Just remember to come during winter when there is almost no daylligh at all, meters of snow (not everywhere though) and cold as hell. Hehe! "
