SciFi and Fantasy Art Awaiting the Hunt by Paul Baxter

This was drawn around the same time as the pic of Zorya Polunachnaya (the one where she looks sad), and it was gonna be part of a series. This was to be a vampiress of the Gangrel clan, from the Vampire: the Masquerade game. When I finished it, though, I didn't like the idea any more.

Teri saw this and asked, 'Did you re-do that one?' It took me a moment to realize that she was thinking of the Hunress pic (pencil sketch in this gallery). While the two bare some simmilarities, this one -- likely infuinced on some level by the preceeding one -- is a completely different drawing.

I did alter this slightly in Adobe PhotoShop -- making the spear a bit longer -- but otherwise it's all ink on paper, original 12x15 inches.

Paul Baxter replies: "Those boots gave me fits. The rest of the pic just sorta came together, but I couldn't decide what to put on her feet. These boots were -- at first at least -- a cop-out. Once I finished the drawing, though, I realized that they were perfect. So, I'll be sending your boots in the next six to eight weeks. No C.O.D.s please."
