This is my better drawing of the Tzimisce vampiress Zorya Polunachnaya.

She's a sad thing of monsterous powers, but she ain't sad 'coz of her lost humanity or for the fact that her 'hair' is now only strips of flesh. Her sorrow is from something else...

Oh well, you didn't come here to read my prattling on, did you? There's always more I can write about any one of my drawings, but I'd rather let the lines do the talking for me.

Ink on (decent) paper, original 12x15 inches (or thereabouts).

I think this pic is one of the best in your gallery! I really love it! The dragon is just great and the expression on her face and her clothes too - really beautiful and well drawn!!!

:-) Paul Baxter replies: "I love this one, too, but I wouldn't have taken the time to do it if the character weren't so real in my mind. The expression and body-language come from what I know of the character, and I have all kinds of stories about her bopping around my head."

Wow, i really like this one.. they way u mentioned her hair as bits of flesh oww... that's just.. u know.
But this pic is great it shows emotion of distraught and the girl is not overly beautiful but is lovely in her own way. Great job !!

13 Paul Baxter replies: "I put this one up at an art show about six months ago, and I titled it 'Remorse.' No one bid on the print, but I gave it to my friend Shaun for her birthday. She really digs Zorya Polunachnaya."

Such an awesome clan.
And such a good depiction of their pain.
Deep down inside I think they all must feel like this, at least sometimes (even the sadistic ones).
Beautiful work.
