ANOTHER of my bird creatures. My scanner wasn't working at the time I drew a bunny bird on paper... so instead of scanning it in and colouring it on Photoshop like I usually do, I drew the whole thing on computer. I did the fur using the 'smudge' tool on photoshop. If you want to do the same, just draw your head/body/whatever, dodge and burn it (using the dodge and burn tools), and then start smudging your picture (I recommend duplicating the layer that your picture is on first, so if you don't like how it looks, you can try again). Start smuding at the edge of your picture, using 'stroking' lines. Then start smudging from areas closer and closer to the center.

...Sorry, this is just an extrememly brief tutorial, so I don't think it will help much. But I hope it does anyway.

The fur was probably the easiest thing. The hardest was doing a rough outline first, and shading the beak and feet. I wasn't sure what the best way to shade the beak and feet was... I didn't want them too dark, but I wanted some contrast, so... well, now I think they look like jelly.
Mmm... jelly. *eats the beak. The bunny bird runs away before I can eat its feet too*.

How the hek did you do thos butterflys , brilliant , plz tell me

2 Sophie 'Photosoph' Matthews replies: "Thanks!
Actually, you can get different brushes for Photoshop -ones shaped like wolves, plants etc. These ones were shaped like butterflies; I really liked them, so I used them here. The white colouring makes them look like ghost butterflies, heh. ^_^
I'm not sure where you can get the different brushes from; but some sites offer them for free to photoshop users. Hopes that helps!"

2 Sophie 'Photosoph' Matthews replies: "Thanks! Merci! Actually, I got those butterflies from some brushes I downloaded for photoshop. I really think they're great! But unforuntately when this computer got a virus ages ago and we had to reinstall Windows, I lost the brushes. 8 But if I need them again I can probably download them. 2"

Your bunny-bird is very cute!

Also, I'll benefit from your tip/tutorial since I'm new and am wanting to get photoshop soon.

2 Sophie 'Photosoph' Matthews replies: "Thank you!
I'm glad, I hope that the tip helps you. If you need any more photoshop help, search for photoshop tutorials online, or maybe my sister (her link is on the front page of my elfwood gallery) might be able to help you if you have problems. There's a lot of things you can do with photoshop, so it can be confusing at first, but if you keep experimenting with it you should get good at it in no time. 2 But I really suggest looking for some tutorials, since they will probably help a lot.
Best of luck with photoshop! I hope you enjoy the program. 2"

ohh I love him, the beak looked a little weird at first but it doesnt anymore. If your worried about the feet, perhaps seperating them with tiny lines to show digits would make it look less like puddin jello and more like bunny feet? Yes? no? Try it out with some different colors too, not just black but maybe dark brown lines or darker pink. I dunno just trying to help because I love all your cute creations!

1 Sophie 'Photosoph' Matthews replies: "Aw, thank you very much; even though I drew this pictures some years ago, I'm glad you still like them. ^^ About the feet; mostly I was worried about whether he/she was balanced correctly or not. I kind of like the jello look. XD"
