Due to being slightly stressed out on my NVQ3 course, I've taken to drawing pics of my favourite fella of the moment - David Thewlis :) Drawing always helps me to relax, zone out & generally be absorbed by something without a deadline! I didn't use any references for this particular image which is why it's probably best described as Thewlisesque rather than an out & out portrait, but you should be able to see it's of him as Professor Lupin. The sepia is down to it being 'his colour', although this was originally sketched in HB pencil.

This is gorgeous. Very simplistic and clean. The monotone is really nice. This is perfect. Keep it up! I love your Harry and Hermione, by the way!
*first comment jig and slide*

1 Ruth Emma Latchford replies: "I approve of the jig & slide 12I was pretty pleased with how this one came out in the end. Harry & Hermione tell me to give you this bag of sugar-spun quills in appreciation for your comments."

I love this picture too.......I LOVE ALL YOUR PICTURES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! in every one you've captured that gentleness and layed back yet really tired thing in Lupin.

:-) Ruth Emma Latchford replies: "Yeah poor thing, he *is* a bit tired...*tucks him in bed with big cosy blanket*"

unbelivable how you ever again manage to capture Thewlis` features in so few and simple lines. My compliment 2 (I did really like the Thewlis version of Lupin. Can`t understand wy so many did not. What did they expect?)

:-) Ruth Emma Latchford replies: "I think a lot of people wrongly expected some God of a handsome creature simply because he has such a lovely personality. Well, to be honest I find Thewlis very attractive indeed but it's generally not a widely held view. Shame! Thanks for commenting & here have a bag of chocolate covered raisins."

Really cool picture, again my one of my favy characters ^^
I thought that the minimalistic and simplistic theme worked really well in this particular pic, awesome. =)

:-) Ruth Emma Latchford replies: "I'm not as happy with this picture as I am with some of my other stuff, but even though it's not a 100% likeness of Thewlis, people seem to still see it as the character."
