This painting, which as are all my Bird Girl paintings, done from a model whom I think and feel a bird kindred spirit for and put them onto canvas.

In this case I felt my model was very strong, and decisive, like an eagle. But still waiting anxiously, and perhaps very very bored up the top of the nest, just waiting to sprout wings and fly...

The Golden Eagle stands over her as her protector and her watcher - but I suppose like most young women...that doesnt stop her from daydreaming of a day shell be free :)

The daydreaming girl has such an expressive face and nice soft, flowing hair; though I guess it’s going to be replaced by feathers eventually. There’s something that appeals to me about the girls with birds series; I hope you spot avian qualities in other friends and that they don’t take it wrong when you tell them that they remind you of a barred owl, cassowary or whatever.

:-) Christina Lank replies: "lol so far - no complaints. though i am not too sure how my friend felt about being a pheasant 10 (i personally find them beautiful though!!) we’ll see - i am diong a new collection for a solo show later this year and though it cant be themed with birds...youll definitely be seeing a few more 10 cant get away from em

The dialogue I got from this. "Come on, get up. Stop being so lazy." said the Eagle. "Auch, just let me sleep already. Go fly or something." The girl. I love it. The girl is beautiful.
