This is one of the few anime style pictures I have drawn. I don't do too much anime because I find I'm not too good at it, but was quite happy with the way this one came out. I wanted her to look slightly annoyed. The costume isn't the most original in the world, but the cheongsam with the high slits on the hips with a wrapped sash (and undergarment with long flowing sleeves that you can't see, but trust me, they go way over the hands), appealed to me and I believe works well on the character. As for the hair, I have a 'thing' for different hairstyles. This one came from my actual haircut a couple years ago.

UMMMMMMM....there's nothing I can say to this artwork, only that, each person has their own talent and skill, and yours is centered around graphical/computer art. I mean no offense when I say this, but anime is not your style, you do graphical/computer art and you're DAMN good at it too!! Maybe you should leave the computer a bit and practice your anime drawing skills more. Or maybe you could juussstt...*whispers* forget about anime. I hope I didn't offend you, but I agree with Jessalyn, go back to the beautiful artwork you do now!!!!!! It's an order!!!!!

:-) Sarah Anne Hommel replies: "Why is it that when people post comments that are mean they never leave their actual name or email address? I'm done replying to these people who tell me to "stick with what I'm good at" maybe I want to try my hand at another style of drawing? perhaps I'm not like you and I want to try to work on things I may not be good at, what's so horrible about that?"

I like the strong line-work. Her hair is particularly nice. I wouldn't have considered this anime, though, as her eyes aren't huge and abnormally far apart. Another plus in my book, though, as I'm not a fan of the huge eyed 'anime' style.

:-) Sarah Anne Hommel replies: "I like nice and neat lines for things like this. To tell you the truth, I used Tasuki (From Fushigi Yuugi as a reference for the eyes, as I really liked the style."

It looks crosseyed

Honestly, I've seen much worse. I think the main thing about anime women is that their facial structures are so delicate. Your realistic approach (with the stronger jawline/cheekbones) is what I think throws the picture. Your body styles are exquisite.

People! I personally think, and have seen alot of, "crosseyed" anime folk. That's just the way they're drawn. Or the way people choose to draw them. I'd like to see you try something like this.

You did a really good job. I can't draw anything this good.^_^

You are the artist and your hand creates at will. If it looks like anime and you call it abstract than it is abstract for it is your art. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder and if 10,000 people think you cant draw there is always that one that will think you the greatest and lift you above all others. Ok Im done rambling. Keep on drawing whatever your hands tell you to.

Some constructive criticism (instead of those 'anime is not your thing' comments).. I think it looks good! The only thing I can come up with is that her eyes are not on the right place. They should go a little lower (the eyes are in the middle of the face, not on the forehead).. But well, I'm more into realism and don't know much about anime.. so well, I hope it is of use. Other than the eyes I think it's a good drawing!

Even though I found that your digital work is amazing, I must say that it is fine to step out on the ledge and try a new style. It doesn't mean you are going to get great at it right away. My first attempts at anime are waaaaaaayy worse than this. I could do constructive criticism, but all I will say is that you should just practice. That's all you really need. Look at other anime styles, and try to copy that style exactly until you find your own style. Plus, they have so many "Learn to draw anime" and "manga" books. Good luck and best wishes!

No offense, (even though your probably going to post a mean reply to this) but your anime is not that good, not as good as your other stuff, at least.People expect really cool anime from you because of your great digital art, so practice some more before posting anime!

P.S
I’m trying to say that your anime is kind of crappy in a nice way.

I don’t know why you can’t take critism, if you don’t like it, don’t read it, and the reason no-one uses their ’real names" is because NO ONE uses their real names on Elfwood. Also, the reason some people are criticising you anymore is because they’re scared of your reaction!!!10101010141414101010999888444171717161616- 999101010
