A little purple dragon explores an old temple. Originally this was just going to be a picture of the corridor, but somehow the dragon snuck in there to peer at the symbols on the wall. This was a mod's choice on 27th December 2003.

In answer to some common questions: The symbols did take a long time. They're inspired by a lot of things. Various mythical animal, real animals, one AD&D critter, and so forth. The coloured symbols between the pictures are based on the forms found in Asian picture writing, but not closely enough to mean anything. [2000 - Ink, Pencils, Watercolour Pencils]

[Edit: June 2006 - Removed the crack on the ceiling in Corel Photopaint.]

I love the use of perspective in this one. Very simple, but extremely well applied. Kudos to your patience. Each of those little heiroglyphs is like doing a separate piece.

Awesome, well deserving of mods. I like how it's almost hypnotic (at least for me 0.o). Oh, and I found the AD&D critter <Points to beholder> ^^.

lol i've seen this pic before, i can't rember when though, but none-the-less this is a quility picture. It's a really cool corridor effect, and the dragon is really cool. When i first looked at it it was like a confusing illusion, lol which was a fun feeling. 2

Just wanted to thank you for commenting on my gallery. I hoped maybe I would get some inspiration of backgrounds from your gallery. This one expecially caught my eye. I like the perspective and the sence of wonder and lost-ness (?) on the dragon's face. Must have taken a lot of time and patience to get it right. A well deserved mods! Thanks again x

The paintings on the walls are so realistic : it really looks like pharaonics tombs. Good work.

Cool. I like the symbols, they do look sort of Egyptian. It doesn't look like age has set in yet. Nice job.

I like the dragon best... AD&D? Unsure what that means, but it took a lot of work to do this pic and its well deserved mods choice!
