Hi! I really like your work, but the proportions of the figure in this picture seem a bit off. It looks like she could almost touch her knees if she would lower her arm while standing straight. Just thought i'd complain a bit after all those praising comments. 1

:-) Sergio Wong Gutiérrez a.k.a. Popeye Wong replies: "Thanks Blaargh. I know what you mean about the arm, but I took the reference snapshot that way, although is kind of risky, is an interesting effect."

The effects are cool but she is a little stubby. Other wise good job

:-) Sergio Wong Gutiérrez a.k.a. Popeye Wong replies: "Thanks Chris-fer. About the girl, I don't think she's stubby, I see her more like a body with more life in it."

The colors are amazing! They caught my attention on the main page. The piece is beautiful.

Oooo...

Something about her right leg seems off. It appears that whatever she is wearing comes down further on that thigh than it does her left (fore) thigh. I may be seeing that wrong.

Otherwise, the colour is so gorgeous and rich and as an above commentor stated, it holds its own glory within the picture but does not deprive the focus of her own beauty. The lighting is mysterious and powerful, almost as if you've actually stumbled into her universe at the moment she created that little charge of light.
She has the build of a gymnast. I like that 4

aah, so it is as I thought, you used a photo-reference. I was looking at it before reading any comments and thought that someone could say it is out of proportion cause the legs seem a bit short. Then I realized it looked a lot like a photo taken standing up at the same level, which makes people look a bit weird & out of proportion, which is why many folk crouch a little before taking a photo, to prevent that optic-illusion.
Ok, sorry I have atendency to go on and on.

anyways, it's a great painting, the colors are very atmospheric, the drawing itself is quite beautifully done, my only peeve is the eye looks a bit weird, but that's just probably cause it's been resized.
great job!

Cool! It looks like a photo. She's pretty. I love the round porthole-thingy on the wall. =D

I think I know why they seem a little strange (the legs). They aren't too short, the front of the thigh is just bulging outward while the back ot the thigh is relatively straight. In my inexperienced opinion, the front of the thigh should be brought in slightly and more "fat" should be added to the back of the thigh. That might help...

Anyway, I still think it's a great picture ^__^

I adore the realistic look of the woman portrayed here, and yet the wonderfully unreal background. Each color in this brings out another of the colors, and the outcome is quite amazing!

:-) Sergio Wong Gutiérrez a.k.a. Popeye Wong replies: "Thanks for all the comments! I appreciate them. I haven't been here in a long, long time (totally my fault). Yep, as I explained, the legs look very short because of the angle I used to shoot. Afterwards, I learned that you're supposed to crouch, to avoid that effect (unless that's what you want). I've been doing that since then, he, he. I love this piece too, I enjoyed doing it so much (and it was even featured in a back cover of Heavy Metal magazine). Thanks for all your comments, everybody, I really appreciate them."
