Silly girl. Daddy told you not to go wandering in those caves. But, this impetuous teenager hops on her unicorn anyway and rides into certain danger! I dunno what those gnarly little men are supposed to be...goblins, maybe? I do knows they is trouble! So does the unicorn, but the rider looks like, 'Aw geez, now what?' *rolls eyes*

WOW, excellent posing and shading. You captured equine musculature effortlessly--I've always had problems with it. I'm not just lovin' the unicorn's expression, it seems mismatched with the rest of the drawing, but still--this is beautiful! By all means, keep up the good work!

:-) Christina 'Perplexity' Likness replies: "I guess his expression is a little exagerrated maybe? I think I coulda done better on the legs, but without a reference pic, I think I did an okay job. Thanks for stopping in, Jennifer!"

Purely stunning! This scetch sends shivers down my spine...I almost feel like shouting, "WATCH OUT DEAR CHILD!" I would like to see a luminous glow to the flame, and a bit more shadowing, other than that, what a inspiring piece! 2

6 Christina 'Perplexity' Likness replies: "Oh, your Royalness, you are being wayyy to kind and generous with your compliments! I have been working hard on shading and light sources, so I hope that my next update will hold some improvements. Thank you for the words of encouragement!"

Love it! Nice work and great detail! Love the way you shaded it!

:-) Christina 'Perplexity' Likness replies: "Hail, Orc Maiden! Thanks for the comments today - I still have a lot to learn as far as light sources and stuff like that. It sure is bright for a cave, huh?"

isn't there a 'Moria scene' reminder thereunder ?

:-) Christina 'Perplexity' Likness replies: "Being a fantasy and Tolkien fan, it's hard not to let his work influence me =) It was not intentional though."

I love the expressions you captured. I can feel, as well as see, the fierce determination and strength in your warrior’s face and the evil in the goblin’s eyes. But, most of all, I love the unicorn. It’s strength leaps out at you. The muscular structure and expression brings to mind the strength of the wild raging surf during a hurricane. For, of course you know the unicorns live in the foam of the surf, and I saw this unicorn in the churning foam in North Carolina this fall as the hurricane approached.

1 Christina 'Perplexity' Likness replies: "THank you for the lyrical comment! It was more artistic than my drawing 12"

Hey, this is actually pretty neat-o! o_o I especially like how the face of the hors--err, Unicorn, is drawn. The unicorn looks really anxious/ready to lay the smack down on whoever gets in its way.

One thing I found, though, was the actual shape of the rider chick. Her head looks too, umm, flat, or lopsided, to me. I think it's most obvious around her cheek/lower half of eye area. I dunno, maybe it's just her expression, which is pretty accurate with the description, btw. Overall, *holds thumbs up* 1

:-) Christina 'Perplexity' Likness replies: "I think I've come pretty far from this drawing, and I can see the flatness you are referring to. I was just getting mah drawing legs back on this one 12 Thanks, for the thumbs up, Avaz!"
