I have two Abyssinian cats who provide me with SO much joy. Ive always loved cats but it occured to me the other day that I have never drawn a cat! So, this is the first attempt - it is based on my cat Raoudi. The lady is supposed to be a priestess with some ritual tattoos on her face. My friend said it reminded her of something from Star Trek. *grin* This is only a third of the picture, but I wanted to include the kitty. Oh, and this is the first pic done with my new Prismacolor pencils! I wuv my new toys!!!

Wow, her eye kinda pops out at you! The kitty is so adorable, you coudn't have done it better! My kitty is very jealous of that lil beautiful cat! *thumbs (and paws) up!*

*sighs* I love cats, but they hate me. Their hair always stands up on their backs, and they hiss when they see me. But never you mind. I do love the kittie's expression, though compared with the lovely priestess.. it is a tad on the animeish side. ( i dont have anything against anime.. just sharing an opinion * cowers* )

:-) Christina 'Perplexity' Likness replies: "Yeah, I agree her eye is too much, too bold. My cat Raoudi is part devil, so he would cuddle right up to you. He may try to nibble your fingers and toes though."

Wow! What colour did you use for the skin? It's perfect! Great shading skilld here, Christina!

:-) Christina 'Perplexity' Likness replies: "Hmm, lemme see - as I can recall (and this was five months ago I think...) I used Prismacolor pencils: blush pink, light peach, peach, and a lil cream.hm, that sounds kinda tasty heheh"

I like the way the cat's head turned out. Unfortunately, I can't say the same for its legs. They seem too.. lanky o_o

And I second that "Nice cleavage!" comment ;P *smirk*

:-) Christina 'Perplexity' Likness replies: "Oh you MAN you 12"

I heard my cat meowing while I was looking at your work and so I picked him up and showed it to him. I think he likes it, so do I.

15 Christina 'Perplexity' Likness replies: "if the cat is happy, I'm happy =)"

this looks like you (compare bio pic)... even almost the same position. the cat is adorable! wonderful expression and poise, very cat-like. Prisma colors eh? You seem to have an excellent concept of color and shading... but heres a tip, if you wanna try it, smudge the colors together useing the white pencil.. then you can kinda darken again over that... it smooths it out, really pretty.

:-) Christina 'Perplexity' Likness replies: "Thanks for the blending tip - I recently got a colorless blending pencil, so I shall try that out next time. As for resemblance to the artist, I don't see it lol but my friend, J, tells me that every girl I draw resembles me somewhat. I tell him he's nuts."

Really beautiful! I love the posing, too! This is a really whimsical and adorable picture- any cat lover/owner can definitely relate. 2

:-) Christina 'Perplexity' Likness replies: "They always want your full, undivided attention, right? lol Thank you for the lovely comment!"
