This little guy is jumping from tree to tree, catching breezes with a leaf. Weeeeeee! My third try with the watercolors. I know they are all very childish, but I'm just learning! The arm in the background is all screwy, I tried to fix it when I realized his arm was all outta whack. The foot is backwards - I can't believe I did that *smacking self in head* Also, the leaf in his right hand is not properly clenched. I'm sure there's lots of other things, but those were the glaring ones and after that, I just stopped looking at it.

He's so cute! Thanks for leaving so many comments in my gallery, I'm gonna try to give you back that many! Mwahahaha! Anyway... I like your use of color, and his body looks great--so does the expression on his face. He looks like he's having so much fun!! ^^ Nice work on the hair, too!

:-) Christina 'Perplexity' Likness replies: "Thank you for returning the comment-favor, dear. Let me know when you update again! *hug*"

I think this is perfectly brilliant! much better than I could do. The only few experiments i've done with watercolours have gone horribly wrong. All those little mistakes you get all fussy about are hardly noticable unless you mention them.

13 Christina 'Perplexity' Likness replies: "Aw, shucks...thanks very much, Freya! I gave this painting to a friend of mine's two year old daughter and I asked her, "Do you see anything wrong with this picture?" and she said, after a minute of scrutiny, "The boy has no nipples?" *rofl* How's that for critical? Sheesh, kids!"

Wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee this is so fun you see a elven lady with golden hair like wings fly after the little boy

:-) Christina 'Perplexity' Likness replies: "That'll be number two in the series I guess heheh"

they're not really childish..i guess its all in how you use them. you know? you can't use them like colored pencils.. its not the same thing. but i dont know how to communicate to you -how- to use them..seeing as how.. its your style, and you're doing great with it anyway. ..2 and, i'm a horrible teacher. lol.
oh well.
i like the colors. the greens go with his hair..and the skintone sort of blends in to that. so yes, all is happy. ^_^
great job 1

1 Christina 'Perplexity' Likness replies: "Thanks for the encouragement, Heather! I have only recently gotten into FARP - what an invaluable resource that is! I will go back to the watercolors with new confidence and hopefully they will improve. I did have a lot of fun with this happy little Elf guy though =) Thank you for commenting!"

I think the grip looks fine. I've drawn a girl in a similar pose and didn't do quite as well as you, (she's not in my gallery, before you ask). The colours are fab - is this watercolour? I'm jealous... I never could gt the hang of them. I never thought I'd WANT to go base jumping... but this looks like it'd be a blast!

:-) Christina 'Perplexity' Likness replies: "What a lovely comment, thank you very much Amanda! Yeah, these were watercolors - I dont use 'em properly apparently. Check out the tutorials in FARP, they've got great instruction for watercolor, colored pencil, etc. 12"

Ironically, Peter Pan also came to my mind, even before I read any of the other comments o_O; And well, no comment, since I was laughing at how you pointed out all the obvious mistakes. The foot is the funniest one, I think *lol* I'll leave you to wallow in your own... whatever it is that you wallow in, to yourself ^_^. *next*

....I dont see pan or pPeter in this....it looks just like a kid elf!! I think this is really cute ^_^ I couldnt even see the mistakes untill I read the commentary on it. ANd actually pretty good job with the color, its not fantastical but its not horrible, either! Better than what I could do with watercolor, at any rate! Nice!

:-) Christina 'Perplexity' Likness replies: "thanks Jessica! My favorite bit is the leaves in the background for some reason. =)"

This has a very fun feeling to it, like a children's book illustration. Nice work!!

:-) Christina 'Perplexity' Likness replies: "Thanks, Andrew! I wish I had a job illustrating children's books, that sounds like fun!"

This is a good picyure of a silly little elf boy! =)

:-) Christina 'Perplexity' Likness replies: "He is a silly little thing, isnt he? With his foot all backwards heheheh"

Don't downgrade your work. Let me do it instead! 2

Frankly, I like the naiveté of this painting. So, "all" the faults just makes it better. I get happy while looking at it.
