Tag As FavoriteComment		The idea for this came in two parts. First I wanted to paint sea turtles. This past summer I was able to swim in the ocean with them several times and their graceful movements in the water struck me, like flight. And secondly, when at the Monterey Bay Aquarium, there was one exhibit where a shark egg was shown. The egg looked remarkably like a piece of seaweed, the better to camouflage. Thus came the idea of these sea maidens....

I can’t paint very well like this. You did an awesome job finding the peace and silence of the depths. The maidens took me a while to find, so great job on the camouflage.

I love how you can barely see the mermaids until you just get a peek at a face and then you actually know they’re there. in addition, you captured the silence of the ocean as well as the calm without making it appear scary as some people do accidentally. very nice

The colors and lighting are simply amazing, I swam with turtles in an underwater volcano in Hawaii this summer and you captured the felling of peace in the water with turtles. Amazing job 2
