Tag As FavoriteComment		I recently took a trip to Europe. This painting was inspired by all the cathedrals that I visited -- the architecture with arches and pillars and a whole lot of light. A friend of mine said when he saw this, 'You -really- are obsessed with painting ugly twisty trees!' (White crooked trees appear in a lot of my paintings.) I -am- fascinated by the grace that a branch can have. The girl sitting at the base of the tree has a slight resemblance to me, although I suppose it's hard to tell when it's so small. Original: Acrylic on 18x24 inch canvas

i wish i knew how to draw light...it sounds easy but i mean its like trying to draw something translucent...it has to b there, but you have to see whats behind it too, great job!2

Wow, I love this one... I love drawing twisted ’ugly’ trees too, they’re fascinating2 And not at all ugly. The light is great, I’ve gotta learn how to draw that some day2

again another stunning piece of work, this image would go well along side a fantasy story, such elegance and grace in the picture. i think it gives you a feeling of actually being of wanting tobe in the painting. truly stunning and one of my favourites on this site.. like monica says in an above comment the white twisted trees aren’t ugly i think they are very intriging and also elegance. i like the trees very much they really make the picture great and does giver the perspective of it being enormous. i wish i could create an image as beautiful as this one, i have loads of images to put to my stories, but wouldn’t be able to draw them out.

This reminds me of Lord of the Rings. It has the same half-dreamlike feeling.
