this painting was inspired by several things. firstly i wanted to paint a star faery and i wanted to experiment with colour. i absolutley love her - she's one of my favourites to date. the shooting star behind her and the stars in the sky glitter away behind her as she reagrds us with a knowing smile - make a wish upon a star and who knows what might happen!!!

She is indeed beautiful, I adore her eyes. Do you use a referance or a model? Your shading is so peofect!

:-) Sally Jacob replies: "thanks! i usually work from pictures ... a lot of paintings come out of several different images. i often use myself as reference for poses etc. - can’t afford to hire models!!!"

This is Aweome! Her face reminds me very much of Kristen Dunst ;P I love the consept, and the folds of her dress are great. I love the wings, great design.
