Forest Giant – March 2012

Speed paint of a character I have had in my head for a while now, I wanted to get him down on paper but I couldn’t seem to get the effects quite how I wanted them. Only since I have been messing with Photoshop have I been able to communicate how I see him.
We very much inspired by the film “Troll Hunter”, I loved the designs in that film, the animation was fantastic too.

I’ve been looking for a troll for a tattoo for a long time, and though the idea passed for the tattoo, this is a WONDERFUL depiction of a troll. Menacing, scary- dark earth tones. But his slight foliage (along with the color choices) makes it beautiful at the same time. Love it! I would love to see your interpretation of Grendel/his mother.
