'The three companions now left the hill-top, where they might be an easy mark against the pale sky, and they walked slowly down the northward slope. A little above the hill's foot they halted, and wrapping their cloaks about them, they sat huddled together upon the faded grass. The time passed slowly and heavily. The wind was thin and searching. Gimli was uneasy.
'What do you know of these horsemen, Aragorn?' he said. 'Do we sit here waiting for sudden death?'...
'You will soon learn the truth,' said Legolas. 'Already they approach.'

Creepy.. this is the very part of the book I'm reading. Of course, this is like my fifth time reading them. I just can't get enough. Your work is very inspiring and warms my heart.
From a fan.

I really like the medieval feel about this. They looks so tired and worn out from chasing those orcs day in and day out. keep it up!

I think this is a very good picture. You've portrayed the characters perfectly. I think Legolas should not look tired because in the book he flourished on lemabas, he could 'sleep' while walking... etc. Very good.

reminds me very much of Alan Lee's portrayl of the trio in his artwork for the series which of course is rivaled by few, so kudos for being up there with the master

I don't think they look very old. Plus, Aragon is NOT supposed to be handsome... in the books, he had a rugged look that they never mention is attractive. I've been looking for a picture that portrays this. Well done!

This is fantastic. Perhaps my favourite LOTR art piece.

It’s cool to see them looking exhausted for a change. That was one of the things I disliked about the movies, they’ve been going for three days without food or rest and only Gimli shows signs of wearing down. Maybe Legolas wouldn’t look quite that tired but even Elves can only take so much. You did an awesome job with this.

was this done before or after the film? It is good to see legolas with dark hair - you obviously are loyal to the books since tolkien never actually described his hair colour! 1
Are those tears running down legolas’ face?
