| 11 Feb 2006 | Benedict Tom Isaac | Loading...It was all because of that kinslaying, why Mandos cursed the Noldor. It was a bad move. Then again, it was Morgoth who started it all, by stealing the Silmarils, so this goes on his account as well.Cause and effect, cause and effect. Where does it all begin? It's never easy to tell... | |
| 18 Mar 2006 | Audrey Whitham | Loading...He looks like Hugh Grant. Nice watercolor effects what did you use?No effects other than the usual stuff -- underlayer of graphite, overlayer(s) of colour. For the stars it was necessary to use a little masking fluid. | |
| 17 Jul 2006 | Satya | Loading...Hugh Grant? Umm... no, this Feanor is nowhere near as sissified. Awesome pic! This is quite how I imagined the Greek Adonnis to look like. Not that it's innapropriate. Feanor was after all an extremely handsome fellow. I really like the way the wind is playing with his hair. And the stern expression on this face really sets the atmosphere and the mood for this pic. The forehead you've given him also lends character to the face. Cold, stern eyes you've given him there, also. But to me, the most distinguishing feature on his face is his nose. It's a sharp nose, and thus makes him look strong and stern and determined. A lot of character in that nose. Good, strong chin adds to this effect as well. The flashes of yellow along with the smoke against the dark night sky... they've been excellently done. And the yellow on Feanor's face, hair, and eye are well painted as well, coming in exactly the right places. Very realistic. The paleness of his skin also suits the picture nicely, and accents the yellow flashes. Really, nothing bad to say about this picture. Great job! In this mood, he sure looks like someone you wouldn't wanna mess with, which he was of course. Thanks a lot, once again! This piece was heavily influenced by Ancient Greek architecture/statues so a lot of what you say about his physical appearance makes a lot of sense. I've always thought it appropriate for the high-elven/noble look. Anyway, I'm really glad you like this piece -- my first portrayal of the famous Fëanor! | |
