'Turning aside, she led them towards the southern slopes of the hill of Caras Galadhon, and passing through a high green hedge they came into an enclosed garden. No trees grew there, and it lay open to the sky. The evening star had risen and was shining with white fire above the western woods. Down a long flight of steps the Lady went into a deep green hollow, through which ran murmuring the silver stream that issued from the fountain on the hill. At the bottom, upon a low pedestal carved like a branching tree, stood a basin of silver, wide and shallow, and beside it stood a silver ewer.
With water from the stream Galadriel filled the basin to the brim, and breathed on it, and when the water was still again she spoke. 'Here is the Mirror of Galadriel, ' she said. 'I have brought you here so that you may look in it, if you will.'

The composition on this piece is very similar to Alan Lee's interpretation of the same scene. I know, it's not your fault, after all, it is the same scene. Besides, in Alan Lee's version, Galadriel was standing on the other side. I just think that the design for the mirror resembles his version too much for comfort, but it doesn't really matter.I see your point of course, but don't think it's too bad a similarity.

Ah. This has always been my favorite...It's so great.

(I read my other comments.....I need to learn how to punctuate in appropriate places. -_-; (Luckily, my grammar is slowly improving...=) ))Thanks! Your grammar and punctuation always seems fine to me 2.

As excellent a picture I have never seen depicting this moment. I never really like this scene in the movie, since Sam, one of my favorite charactors, was dropped. I love Frodo's face, because you make him seem more his age. The only thing I might criticize is Galadriel's head and hair. It's colored beautifuly, but just that part seems slightly cut-outish. But just barely. Great job! Thanks for the comment. I see what you mean about Galdariel's face. The idea was to make it look as if she is slightly radient and 'otherworldy', but I'm not sure if I achieved this. Oh well.

i like the way galadriel seems to shine, and that she is so tall. nice details on the basin also.one thing i haven't imagined is firs in lothlorien..! I might be wrong, but i think they look a lot like firs. very great picture anyway 2I'd imagine there'd be a multitude of varying plants and trees in Lórien, alongside the more famous 'fantasy' vegetation that is mention (i.e. the mallorn). Anyways, thank you once again for the comment!

Wow! This is absolutly stunning! Galadriel looks very beautiful, really has that Elvish feel around her. Frodo looks---careworn I think is the word-- in this pic. You make him look like a grown person instead of a child, cause that's what he is. He's fifty years old after all. Anywho, wonderful work! 1Yes, that's a gripe that I had with the movies. They made Frodo look the youngest of the four hobbits, in direct contradiction to the facts of the book. Thanks a lot for the comment!

I *like* Frodo looking pseudo-Italian. Between you and me? Me too 12!

Nice pic! This is the best Galadriel i´ve seen so far. 2 Someone mentioned the Graeco-Roman (mostly Roman) feel of the characters; I´ve to agree...Galadriel looks a bit like a noble Roman lady (the "gravitas"), which adds to the whole image.
