'Now the cries of clear strong voices came ringing over the fields. Suddenly they swept up with a noise like thunder, and the foremost horseman swerved, passing by the foot of the hill, and leading the host back southwards along the western skirts of the downs. After him they rode: a long line of mail-clad men, swift, shining, fell and fair to look upon.
Their horses were of great stature, strong and clean-limbed; their grey coats glistened, their long tails flowed in the wind, their manes were braided on their proud necks. The Men that rode them matched them well: tall and long-limbed; their hair, flaxen-pale, flowed under their light helms, and streamed in long braids behind them; their faces were stern and keen. In their hands were tall spears of ash, painted shields were slung at their backs, long swords were at their belts, their burnished shirts of mail hung down upon their knees.'

Love it. The earthiness of the colours and composition and Bible likeness of this picture really does justice to the Rohirrim. Very much in awe of your skill. No wonder it got mods pick!Thank you very much. I'm flattered.

This picture is great! I agree with Smeagol, it would be fitting to place this in the hall of Medulseld! Hang it up next to the picture of Eorl the Young. It really does have that antique look to it because of the subdued colours... you're good at that look. It works for your pictures. Artistically, I can't find a single critique to give about it! Two thumbs up! The hair looks GREAT! The braids and helmets also agree with how I always thought of the Rohirim as inspired by the Norse... with horses! On a more practical note though, while I too feel that long hair is of cultural significance to the Rohirim, I think that it would be impractical to keep it as long as that. Just imagine how it would be during battle. Enemies could pull their hair! Anyway, that's just me nitpicking as usual! If you should not care to, then please pay no heed to it! *Bows low* Great job on the whole... and congrats once again on the Mod's Choice!

By jingoes, that hair is long!
His (Eomer's, I assume)eyebrow looks a little on the long side...oh, well. Awesome.

Hauberks and high helms. Fabulous. You’ve been faithful to the text and produced a pleasing picture.
