'Three years passed, and in that time Túrin came seldom to Thingol's halls; and he cared no longer for his looks or his attire, but his hair was unkempt, and his mail covered with a grey cloak stained with the weather.'

I pittied Turin when I read the Silmarrilion (you find a version of this story in almost all the histories, I think) Here he was, tied to a tree, and he sees a figure looming over him. What was his first reaction? Kill and run. It was an awful mistake.

Back to the picture. This is amazing... The only kinds of faces that I can draw are anime, and even those suck. But this; this looks like it will pop out of my screen.Yes, he's certainly a tragic character, one of my favourites in fact -- I'm really glad you like my portrayal of him. I've actually painted the scene that you mention, here. I'll publish it in this gallery eventually as well.

That IS Túrin, in his last years.Of course, this is simply down to personal interpretation. In my opinion, he looks too young here to be considered in his last years.

Nice, like his nose, and this from someone who normally think noses are darn ugly things ^-^(nothing to do with your pic but, I like the fact that one can clearly see the Swedish influence; NARN I HÎN HÚRIN reminds a lot of "Barn i Hîn Húrin´", which means children in Hîn Húrin)Ah, noses aren't that ugly... mostly 12. Thanks for the comment. Yes, it's always interesting to see where Tolkien derived his languages from.

Narn i hin Hurin is one of my most favourite stories in Silmarillion. And this work is very good. I can´t describe some things in words, what I feel from the picture, it it impresses me like good art ought to.

This is exactly how I see the Master of Doom in my imagination, and you can really see the suffering him and his family have endured. 8 Damn Glarung!
