hmmm, i rather like this lol its a little small but nevermind. The deatils are nice and the shading is adequate. however i dont think you need the sign saying up. maybe clouds or a mountain with clouds around it in the background could show he was going up? keep up the good work 2Well, the UP is more for the joke, you know, like it's written on cardboard boxes 'this side up'.
About the lack of background, well bg ain't exactly a strong side.
About the size: the original is 7x4.5cm (too).

I'm sorry, but it is. To me. I like the shading, too, a bit rough and sketchy, but effective that way.

P.S. the 'this side up' sign was very creative...
