You do a good job with the shading and flesh tones, and that is not so easy to do with acrylics (I use oils, where flesh tones are easier, in my opinion). You did a fine job on the face, but I also love the hands. I think hands and feet are the hardest features to draw on characters. If there is any criticism that I have, it is that the face is so realistic, while the lightnings are so stylized. This makes the lightnings look fake, in my opinion -- especially those in his hands. I am not sure what realistic lightning would look like held in someone's hands, but it wouldn't be white, pointy jagged white lines with consistent edges of solid blue... Please post more! I love realism, and you are so good at it! Renata Cavanaugh replies: "Thank you for your awesome comment. You are right about the lightning. I had the image in my mind from the begginging....but no matter what I tried I always went back to what you see...Next time I try you suggestion!!Thank you"

He kinda reminds me of Thor, the god of thunder from germanic mythology Other than former commenters I really like the way you did the lightning. It's extremely hard to draw lightning that looks realistical (all those odd highlights and neon-colors) but even if that wasn't a problem I'd prefer them the way they can be seen on your pic For some reason I very much like how you mixed that very realistic looking character with those rather flat (and rather cartoon-style)looking lightnings. For me that really makes the picture. It sure looks odd, but in a very mysterious and fascinating way. I don't think I'm able to make myself clear but it's always hard to state exactly why you're liking something, isn't it? To say some less confusing things: You're coloring skills are amazing. I think his lips and beard are the features I like most. The background fits perfectly, with all those lightnings and that halo-like-effect around his heard. And he has a cape! Yay for the cape (as long as Edna Mode doesn't see it ;D ) Renata Cavanaugh replies: "Pierre, thank you so much for your comment! I am so glad you like it! Comments like yours make me want to do more and better!!"

I'm trying to write a book right now so I'm drawing all of the characters for it, its a lot of work but its worth it I think. well keep up the good work and send in some more drawings I can't wait to see what you've drawn Renata Cavanaugh replies: "Oh, you are so sweet. Thank you kindly for your wonderful comment! I will send in more shortly"

It's not the way they were done as much as position and perspective. I dunno it's most likely just me. Again I reiderate great jobe. Renata Cavanaugh replies: "Thank you for your comment!"

The lightning somehow doesn't look as real as it could to me, perhaps some light eminating from it might do the trick? Otherwise, this is amazing! He looks a LOT like my dad- scary! Renata Cavanaugh replies: "Thank you!"
