Dear Quinn,
As Far as I know: the origin of the name Aboudara: Is Aboudaras.

The Aboudaras family known to be an ancient Greek Jewish family. My grandfather left Greece to Egypt in the beginning of the 20th century. In Egypt he changed his name to Aboudara. His 2 brothers left at the same time to Turkey and there they changed their names to Aboudaraham. Members of the family live in Istanbul and Izmir today.

There are Aboudara Jewish families from Tunisia, Morocco but we did not find any connection.

I hope it helps and sorry for not answering earlier. It appears that my interest in the history of my family rise once in 8 month.

Aboudara replies: "Not sure if I mentioned this to you but I'm going to be stationed at Camp Pendelton California with the 1st Battalion, 5th Marines, 5th Marine Division once I get back from my leave. Yeah I'm gonna kick it for a few days with some friends here on the east coast before I take off back to my beautiful blue on the west. Anyways, till then I'm keeping up with the drawing of course, and I hope to track down a scanner soon so I can get some updates on here ASAP."

My grandparents came from Istanbul - are there any other aboudara families from there?
