not as good as the first personally. but still breathtaking Rachael Mayo
replies: "It’s interesting - most people seem to like the green dragon better, while I like this red guy better because it’s more detailed and because I got that gold pen under control. Hey, what can I say - the jury has spoken. "

I tried to view this picture before when I commented on your Jade dragon, but Elfwood and my computer conspired against me... but it’s a great piece. I think I actually prefer this piece over the other one, but of course they work best together.
I really like the wispy cloud background, and the metallic effect looks great, but I bet it looks waaaay better in real life.... Rachael Mayo
replies: "Always a conspiracy! Glad you were able to get in to see this one. I’m actually pretty pleased with the improvements I’ve been able to work in now that I’m more comfortable with the shiny ink. ...Yeah, it looks a bit better-balanced in real life. You can’t get the shiny-in-your-face effect when you turn the picture in the light with the digital version!"

i like that dark background - colourful dragon contrast a lot! Rachael Mayo
replies: "The high contrast is the main reason I use the black background. Thanks! "

The belly scales draw most of my attention, very strange... Rachael Mayo
replies: "The belly scales have the most clear linework, I think, and they follow the dragon from chin to tail in a way that you can follow with your eyes. At least, that’s what I figure. "
