Tag As FavoriteComment		Here's the next semiprecious stone dragon - this time I used opal as my point of reference.

This dragon turned out *much* differently than I'd originally envisioned. I was going to go for golden tones with a small bit of blue and green, but when I'd colored about halfway down the scales on his neck, I decided that I really liked the way those blues looked. So I ran with it. I ran far and long until blue had taken over the picture.

...How it wound up mostly pastel I do not know. Despite my general aversion to pastels, I really like the way the picture turned out. So there. Two points for serindipity.

Prismacolor pencil, metallic paint marker, Photoshop tweaking.

Again a beautiful work. Opal is one of my favorite stones because I like the different colours. You captured them very well in your drawing.
