Seventh in an ever-growing series of dragons whose colors are based on precious and semi-precious stones.

Turquoise is another one of my favorite stones - anything from an almost yellowy-greeny-blue to that deep azure-turquoise blue: I wanted to get a bunch of different tones of turquoise into this picture.

I wasn't sure that the gold linework would work originally, but I thought I'd try it to see what would happen. I ended up being quite pleased with the effect. I usually see silver and turquoise jewelry, but I think the gold really sets off the blues and greens as well.

Seems like wasting time, but I still have to point out the obvious; this is absolutely beautiful!
I’m a bit surprised how well the gold works with the bluish-greenish tones. Like you said, they are usually accompanied by silver.
Oh, how did the gold scan out? Did you have to tweak it afterwards? I’m just hoping to find a metallic paint/ink which wouldn’t require learning gimp/photoshop.

The gold metallic bits do not scan well at all. I have to do quite a bit of tweaking in Photoshop to get it to look right. Dodge/burn FTW!"
