Here's a lunchtime doodle I worked on for a couple of weeks. Originally it was going to be retina-searingly bright, but when I got my expanded set of Prismacolor Verithins, I noticed that there were about four different purples... And lo, it became a purple phoenix. Go figure.

This is truly a thing of beauty! I like purple anyway, and this color scheme is fantastic! BTW, we live pretty close to Phoenix Az. Yet we hardly ever see any phoenixes here. Strange, huh.We have just herds of dragons though. People tell me they are lizards- but just wait till their little wings grow in!

This is beautiful, even with a small color range you really can create a lot of demintion. I love it!! 2 By the way, is this one a baby pheonix or am I still just in baby mode from puppy sitting?

:-) Rachael Mayo replies: "Thanks very much! I’ve certainly had some fun with my coloring process when I use the limited color range of the Prismacolor Verithins. It’s been educational...

No, this was intended to be an adult critter. Sounds to me like you *do* have puppies on the brain! ^_~"
