This is an original Gargoyle character, based on the Gargoyles cartoon by Disney.

Commissioned art for DeviantArt buddy Torachande. This is his Gargoyles character Maelificius. The pose I used is based on dancers rather than martial artists. I wanted him to look like he was making a grand leap off of a vertical surface, just snapping his wings out to catch the air - just between downstroke and freefall.

I'll say this: I *still* think the Gargoyles series is cool. It's held up well over the years.

Ink, watercolor, Prismacolor pencils, gold paint pen.

The Gargoyles is indeed still a great serie. You successfully recreated their typical look with a different style; only the feathered wings and tail are unusual, but it looks great!
