Yes, this is my second comment here, but I'd just like to let you know I'm glad you're alive and can't wait for the next parts of everything to come up. ^_^
I love Shadow-Dancing and Windsinger. Please update, I'm dying to know what else happens!

Hey girl! I just wanted to let you know that I've included you in my "Literary Crack" tour devoted to longer, multi-chapter works of fiction. If you have any objections, please let me know!

Dear Boo Person;
Interesting. I see that you've managed to trot out most of the major catch-words. My compliments to your high school english teacher. I also enjoyed how you equate the volume of an author's public works with their quality, when even the briefest trip through a bookstore would reveal the reality to be quite the opposite. But then, I doubt reality has much of a hold on your worldview.
If you disagree with me, prove me wrong. Crawl out from beneath the rock of anonymity and put your own literary failures on display. We could all use a good laugh; as well as an idea as to why you're so bitter.
P.S. As a note to the author, I'd like to say that the voice used in some of your stories is perhaps too conversational. It is, however, a decent beginning for an author; as long as you remember not to take yourself too seriously and to avoid listening to those who would drag you down to their level.

Alright here's something constructive. Why don't you re-examine why you think you have the ability to be a professional writer. Have you been published? Have you won any awards? Have you ever submitted anything for consideration in either of those categories? Internet novice awards need not apply. Have you had a sucessful literary career at your college? It does not appear so from your livejournal, where I found a link to this webpage. I'm by no means a professional either but I have been writing, studying writing and studying literature long enough to recognize when someone is completely deluding themselves. If you're not going to take writing seriously then you have no reason to expect the world of literary minds to do so either.
Want more?
Work on plot. Work on structure. Work on believability. Just because it is fantasy doesn't mean it can be fantasticly unbelievable and or trite. Your characters' motivations are shallow. Their dialogue is pubescent. Also do some more reading in the genre. Study what scholars have said about important works like Tolkein and Lewis. Go read Lewis and study the themes he was trying to present in the Narnia books.
If you want to be a serious-professional writer you're going to have to take your subjects more seriously.Your assumptions about my personal life, both those that are explicitly stated and those that are implied within your post, are inappropriate and unwelcome. Furthermore, your "criticism" is so vague that you may as well still be saying "boo." It's unbelievable? All right; no one's told me that before, but I'd believe it. What parts, exactly, strain credibility? The motivations are shallow? OK, their motivations toward which actions? I have yet to see any evidence that you are doing anything but using my work as a means of drawing attention to yourself. I welcome criticism, not harassment.Stop wasting your time and mine by shadowing me. Get a hobby. Take up knitting or something.

Wow...Boo Person! Who crawled up your anal cavity and died? Jeez--I've seen kinder animals crawl out from under a cactus! Baby, if everyone could write like Tolkien and Lewis then the world would be a pretty boring damn place wouldn't it? Even Lewis admitted that he sometimes just slung crap on a page in order to get it to press on time, so no one can escape criticism. I'd love to see what marvels of literature you've crafted recently to warrant jumping down her throat! We're all here to have a good time and learn the craft, so until you can learn to keep your vile tongue in your head I suggest you step off.
Rachel...on a more personal note. I think the two works are moving along wonderfully and I am enjoying each section. Any time you can drop by my page I will discuss editing at length with you in a civil and constructive way. Keep up the good work and don't let idgits like Boo get you down!
Hey, I see you like constructive criticism, so I wanted to tell you about a critique group that is made up of Wyvern's writers. It's been pretty good so far, and we'd love new people! http://groups.yahoo.com/group/wyvernsmiths/
