Trapped in a reflection
A shadow of my life
There is no real connection
Between the two

They can give me perfect safety
A castle, all my own.
But it doesn't really
Belong to me
Unless I can find a way
Back to you.

The ocean gleams
Green and grey and blue
But there's nothing I can do
Because I'm...

Trapped in a reflection
Staring at my face
A prisoner in this deathly silent place
And while all the worlds keep spinning
My life is past beginning
I go not forth nor backwards
I cannot live at all

In this case I think the picture adds meaning to the poem, instead of the other way ‘round… You really are lots like me. This reminds me of a poem I wrote called “Alien”… Rachel A. ~Wolf Eyes~ McCausland replies: "Well I guess...you sort of could say that. In any case, I'm not sure I'm that good at either, but at other times...Well anyway..."

It would make a great Hoobastank song I think. ^_^ And you've really done an awesome job with the setting of the scene; you can feel the mermaid's loneliness and longing for the outside.
