Although not a giant sized character himself, Blue Scythe, like many others featured here, does have ties to such. But even more importantly, is a my #1 creation, even more so then my namesake Enshohma. Created when I was nine years old, Blue Scythe was originally meant to be a Man in the Iron Mask type being, but Japanese programs from 'The Guyver' and the awesome film 'Zeiram' changed him to a fully non-human and organic being.
Blue Scythe is an alien bio-weapon from the planet Veena and was originally meant as a prototype for a mass produced soldier for its completely female inhabitants, the Veena, but failed simply because his creator, Professor Enodite, was too much of a progressive idealist, believing that the best bio-weapon soldier would be a being created with love and giving a chance to naturally grow like a child. Making them more willing to defend the Veena, unlike other bio-weapons who were forced grown into adults and treated like soulless machines which usually caused them to go violently insane and kill its masters. But it was cheaper and faster the traditional way and Blue Scythe, then called Enodite Bio-Weapon 808, was never approved for mass production. Blue ended up becoming Enodite's surrogate son and together with her lab assistant and friend Buxa, became a happy family unit until Enodite's unjust death at the hands of corrupt Veena officials and Blue Scythe own vengeful rebellion that branded him a fugitive for the rest of his life.
It has been many years long since then and Blue has become a very old and tiered creature, who although has a fighting body that could give a giant monster a run for its money thanks to sonic based attacks and weapons, acts more like a grizzled, easily annoyed old man whose cynicism level is on overdrive. Think the Guyver or the Yautja aliens of the 'Predator' movies...BUT with a personality like Fred Merts of 'I Love Lucy' or Al Bundy of 'Married with Children' rounded off with a voice not to dissimilar to Lance Henriksen mixed with Billy Bob Thornton.
I really hate using other shows, movies and celebrities to describe my characters, but sadly by experience and people to dumb to know what 'grizzled, easily annoyed old man whose cynicism level is on overdrive' means, I've found the last bit helps a lot to get Blue's personality across.
Although a feared outlaw, Blue Scythe only seeks peace and is constantly wandering the galaxy in search for a place to settle down for the rest of his life, free from the Veena stupidity and cruelty that destroyed his makeshift family, as well as the Heskon Galactic Community, a massive multi-species civilization who supports Veena and has really made Blue more notorious as a villain then he really is. Despite this however, Blue finds himself constantly having to fight not only those looking to cash in on the price on his head, but far greater, more pure forms of evil that threaten existence. And of whom the so-called mighty of Heskon and Veena could barley handle, let alone comprehend.
These include the likes of the Solodak Monsters, Nero, Kaiser Deborah, Shadow Man Jake, some of Sam's more dangerous enemies, Hellzerg, DX and the rest of the insidious Apocalypter Army to name a few. (See, I told you he was related to my kaiju style characters)
I will share more about Blue Scythe, his powers, abilities, friends, biggest enemies, and the rest of his world in future updates (I hope). But it should be noted that the above image, with Blue in samurai garb as if he's a missing character from an Akira Kurosawa film was made just for fun and doesn't really reflect his story nor character well...although now thinking about, maybe I could have Blue Scythe spending at least some time in medieval or 18th century Japan, before leaving it out of frustration.
