Two unrelated characters from two greatly different ends of the spectrum, but both heroes non the less. Kovac the Troll hails from the magical world of Nira and has a very tragic past. He was once prominent blacksmith who was engaged to a beautiful human woman named Maria, who loved him just as much. But Maria's cruel family, as well as the rest of the village folk didn't want this union to take place. They set out to kill Kovac, fearing that common sense with a troll would never work. A stupid assumption that lead to an even greater mistake. While in the process of doing away with Kovac, the mob accidentally killed Maria instead. Kovac, filled with psychotic fury for what had happened to his love, went on a murderous rampage and killed everyone that was present. When the horror ended, Kovac returned to his senses and realized what he had done was not what Maria would have wanted. Kovac has since then become a wanted criminal all across Nira, but despite the price on his head, he prefers to travel the lands, helping those most in need and making up for the terrible things he has done past. For Maria's loving memory and for his own salvation.
Far away, in the Heskon Galactic Community, lives Buxa. Buxa is a Veena, an all female race of blue skinned humanoid aliens (my creation by-the-way) who have dealt with the extinction of their males population through bioengineering. Buxa was one such scientest, and a great one at that. She would have remained a success had she not discovered a dark plot of the Veena high archery involving genocidal plans against the rest of Heskon. She, along with some friends, were able to end this operation, but had to leave their home world and go into hiding because of it. 178 years later, things have died down enough for Buxa to resume a somewhat normal life. She now owns and pilots a space ship / mobile dinner called The Wandering Appetite which does business in and around Heskon. Of course she avoids going anywhere near the Veena home world, but with the money she makes elsewhere, she is never homesick. But time and time again, she comes into situations where innocent beings are in desperate need and like 178 year before, she can't help but to butt in. And when she does, good things are bound to happen.
