'Tis a story with no 'e's.

I blame Megan Proverbs and my keyboard. Megan because she suggested I write a story with no 'e's and my keyboard because the 'e' key quit working and because of that, events led to Megan's suggestion.

Understand, here, that I couldn't use the word 'the', past tense, and a great deal of the English language besides. So, sorry if it makes no sense. >.< .

O_O?! Its August 19, and this got a mod's choice. Wow. this is awesome, but also slightly creepy. *is not going to explain*

Stops...

A walrus lolls on pink sand, oblivious of sounds and sights both.

A world turns and all around a galaxy obits, but walri do not look up. Or down. Or look at all. Snoring, mountainous things, with tusks and wings, walri of that world do whats good for all: no flying.

Just...
Snoring.
Basking.
Lolling.

For a sky without wings, but without mortal articulations, folks pray to gods and cats, for both may turn away. Or not. It is good. It is without sorrow. For now, sin is dormant. Stars light sky and land, and with that a start stops.

As starts always do.

But so do stops start. As this has.

A day without sound soars around a world, for without air it cannot support audio. Two suns mount a horizon in startling color, a cloud of gas wrapping around such infant stars. But stars too may grow old and go away, fading to a distant land of nothing. As a woman of a sky sits dying, a mourning for that which did not fight for survival sounds out, a sound only for druids of draconian form to touch with minds of wisdom.

Such minds do not always know groovy as much as a curtain, though. Curtains, all-knowing things that go only to past instants, know what it is to mourn, and do. All should, but not all can find a way to a road that is sought, if that road in not groovy in its own kind.

A party of four start a vacation of sanity, following a sought road and starting along a path to fry birds. Crystal monoliths spiral toward a sky without color, glass shards falling to a ground far away to grow again. This world starts to stop.

Dragons mourn.

A start stops, but for now, stops do not.

Walri burn in agony, but nobody pays mind. Flying aids such walri not, as without air wings do not grant flight, and all run away.

Air abandons all. Stopping prolongs naught.

But still, a woman of a sky sits dying. Curtains mourn in sorrow that stop, and druids touch it with draconian minds, but pink sand and cat gods occupy conscious thoughts of all that call up that past.

And this stop of a world stops.

This stop stops too. As do all, to gratifying oblivion.

Hey can you let your cat reply to my comment? I'm a vet, and I feel obliged to make sure he's still okay after eating a knight in armor.
Anyway, I love your story. It's very random, and it reminds me of myself. I am veeery random. there are seventeen "e"s in my sentence. Oh crud, now there's eighteen!
PS- I am not a vet!

:-) Kim Schoonover (FreeBSD/i386 [moose] [ttyv5]) replies: "Since I can't even tell which cat ate him, I'm sure which ever one it was is fine. O_O Not been many puking episodes lately, you know?
Glad you like it. Maybe you should write and upload something equally as random; after all, dragons and unicorns will only go so far with that...

now there are 30 (including this sentence)Comment From The Writer's Cat: *eats the sentence*"

Wow. I didn’t know you did story writing, though I should, it’s youish. Congrats on mods, this thing is worth it. I’ve got a book with a guy who only say words that start with ’s’, but this is amazing. You got skills. O.o

:-) Kim Schoonover (FreeBSD/i386 [moose] [ttyv5]) replies: "Meish?

*offers some pie*

*and a wombat*"

Now that was pretty spiffy, writing a story with one letter never used, poor ’e’, so left out. A moment of silence for our fallen ’e’. ::a cricket chirps:: Silence! ::a cricket goes splat:: Ahem, much better.

I really liked this story. Not only because you wrote it leaving a letter out, but just the whole seeming randomness. The imagery reminded me much of a dream or hallucination kind of thing... neat

:-) Kim Schoonover (FreeBSD/i386 [moose] [ttyv5]) replies: "Yes, poor e. We should really not encourage it, though... might acquire an inflated veiw of itself.

Now if only I could repeat the endeavor. I repeat any writing acheivement... I am finding that I seem to have lost most of my levels as author, and am now incapable of writing at all! *panics*"

As I read this I actually didn’t see any e’s. This should be a mod’s pic with one of thosse star things in the corner!!!

:-) Kim Schoonover (FreeBSD/i386 [moose] [ttyv5]) replies: "None at all.

...It is. o_O
The star just replaces the blutt in Wyverns, instead of going on the icon..."

Wow... a whole page without any ’e’ s.... Hey! Why don’t you try some other letters as well? Of course, it would be most challenging if it was a vowel, but it’s all the same to me! My friend who is lookin gover my shoulder prompts me to challenge you to write a story without any ’a’ s in it. Or a story where every word has to begin with the same letter.

:-) Kim Schoonover (FreeBSD/i386 [moose] [ttyv5]) replies: "Eh, butt hat would require that I be able to write at all, as I appear to currently be unable to... o_O

Though really, one’s enough. ’E’ is, apparently, the most common vowel, anyhow. (you should read Gadsby if you think this is impressive, though. o_O)"

I never read anything on Elfwood, but I am glad I stopped to read this. It was fascinating. My graduate professors give us tasks like that sometimes - converse in a group for ten minutes using only two-syllable words. It was HARD. So, I commend you. I think we can strangle a deep meaning out of it.

:-) Kim Schoonover (FreeBSD/i386 [moose] [ttyv5]) replies: "Cool. ^^ Glad you came by.
But speaking is by far harder than writing in such, as it is all very much faster...
I reckon strangle may well be exactly the right word. o_O"

I feel moved... What a very strange story, but so so funny. Well done!

"Such minds do not always know groovy as much as a curtain, though" Best line in the story, who kows just how much groovy a curtain does know? And is that knowledge of groovy actually more than such a mind? Who knows! Maybe the curtain does... I shall ask it and let you know my findings in less than 5000 words.

:-) Kim Schoonover (FreeBSD/i386 [moose] [ttyv5]) replies: "Moved, eh? Maybe you could move yourself to... uh, have a piece of cake? *hastily hides something behind her back*

Eh, thanks. ^^"

Hi!! I was the person Okami no Yume_Dream was talking about on April 12!
Really, you should write a story without any a’s or even z’s! ^__^ Just Kidding! It would be too easy with out ZEEE!!

Blue/Purple Unicorn:"The man with the hat sent us!"
Pink Unicorn: "He told us many amazing stories!"
Both: "Ho, ho, ho, ho, ho!"
Charlie: "What?"
Pink: "Tonight we will dine on turtles!"
Blue/Purple: "They will be good, Z!"
Z: *shoots laser*
Charlie: "Aaah! What did you two do?!"
Both: "Z!!!!!"
Purple: "I am happy!"
Both: "Ho, ho, ho, ho, ho!"
Charlie: "Just keep walking, Charlie. Keep walking

:-) Kim Schoonover (FreeBSD/i386 [moose] [ttyv5]) replies: "RSTLNE. Apparently, the most commonly used letters in the english language.
Although I think my ’z’ key had quit working at the time, too... not so much an issue, though, yeah.

*feeds them to her dragon* Life is good. ^^"
6 Jul 2008:-) Sandra van Iersel
what a defect e-key can lead to. This is beautifull.

:-) Kim Schoonover (FreeBSD/i386 [moose] [ttyv5]) replies: "Thanks. ^^

I do rather miss the randomly spewed chines characters, though. The faulty keys didn’t just do nothing, necessarily, see.

And this, children is why you shouldn’t disassemble and reassemble complex plastic machinery. It’s wimpy, and can’t take it repeatedly. That, and there do be lots of little bits to be lost... *shifty eyes*"

That is absolutely fantastic! I’d love to take this along to our writers group. It’s quite inspiring, almost an oricle rather than a story.

:-) Kim Schoonover (FreeBSD/i386 [moose] [ttyv5]) replies: "Well, I’m not one to object to that sort of thing... assuming one gives me credit. It’s *my* incoherent blob, after all.

And thank you."
