SciFi and Fantasy Art Storm Dancer by Randi C. Rasmussen

Yet another picture from Niangaran Sil' Firien. This one is of a Storm Dancer. She's a sort of Holy Person to the Markers, a nomadic tribe that travels all over the world.

I wanted to give her a kind of african tribal dance stance (try saying that ten times fast! *_* ), but then I went and put my head in a sack, and my fingers added the skirt, so now she just looks kinda funny.

I'm pretty fond of the lightnings, though. Haven't really played around with those before.

It's also amazing to see how much shading there is in this picture, it's really beautiful. Her expression is nice, and the shading in her clothes are wonderfully done. Randi C. 13 Oct 2003	Meike de Nooy	Loading... It's just the legs that are wierd, but the rest is really awesome! I love the lightning effects! Lightning is really hard and you did a good job! (Now you know why I never draw lightning LOL) Randi C. Rasmussen replies: "I think I like doing lightning... I'm doing a couple of pieces where lightning bolts just sort of crept onto the paper (but then, both of them are of a Talos Priestess, so I guess it was kinda natural S)"

I wanted to do a colourful person for a change (not necessarily in the literal sense S) Somehow I always make the cultures and stuff in my stories look alike, and it really bothers me... So this time I put my back into it lol"
