Rhiannon Dariyan Daymond-King

Rhiannon is a student who reads voraciously, writes a couple of poems and stories and draws dragons and Elves.

I am 17/f/brown eyes/brown hair, slowly getting longer. I am a 7th form (in 2001) student at Kaipara College in the headwaters of Auckland, on the picturesque Kaipara Harbour. Not that any of my pictures are about that. I mainly draw dragons, and also Elves. I have 14 fixed dragon characters that I draw, they all have different colouring, mannerisms, ages (and names too of course.)I recently posted up a Dragondex. I draw several different Elves, but as yet haven't got any pics up. I started drawing like this about 3 years ago, but I have been drawing all my life, encouraged by my parents. The non-fantasy things I draw are flowers and CATS. I am a cat lover (we have six!) Some other arts I enjoy are quilling and origami (I'm quite good.) My favourite media are coloured pencils, now oil paints too, then watercolours, then pastels. When I scan pictures I generally go over them in Photo Editor to take out the page lines or whatever. Occasionally I even go mad and add textures to them. I suppose I get my inspiration from SF/Fantasy books, god knows I've read enough. I read about 200 books a year, at least for the last 4 years, and I estimate that I have read over 1800 books. And I'm not kidding. (I could probably tell you a fair bit about half of them even now, too.) I also have written a few more short stories that I will put on Wyvern's Library one of these days. (About Elves. I have yet to write a story about dragons.) I am currently studying the Elvish language, and know a strange mix of Sindarin and Quenya words and also the dwarvish celtar (runes) and Elven tengwar (letters.) (From The Complete Guide to Middle Earth, by Robert Foster.) So, having written more than I should have, I will say Namarië! (farewell)

So what does everyone think of my poetry? Especially Lost Land and Beserker, Balchoth Firimar and West?

Hey, one thing I've noticed about your stories is they seem to move really fast,in the time sense at least.
This seems to detract from their realism.
When you slow down and mention detail, the writing is great.
Methinks if you didn't try to encompass such big time-scales in short stories it would be much better.
The Elves first story really should have been two, the one when they were children seperate.
That's really all I've got to say except if you read this before monday, ask me about the library demon.
(Heck, ask me about the library demon anyway)

1) It's the SECOND story you're talking about.
2)Go ahead and plot to kill the library demon... I shall listen extra hard from my house for maniacal laughter coming from the west-south-west. Until March when I will not be at home during the day (ah no 7 hour weekdays of study!!!)
3)Thanks.
4) Must write some more short stories... goodness knows I have the time right now...
5) Ow, sunburn! And sore shoulders!! Ow!
6) Hmmm, maybe the story of The Intrepid Kaipara River Adventurers is forthcoming?
7) Maybe not.
9 Am I ever going to get tired of doing bullet points?
9) Yes, probably
10) Bye!

Wow, very nice writing. You have pretty good ideas that could go a long way. Oh by the way, you can answer these ppl in the extranet (with a writer's reply and such) saving you a lot of space 2

Hello; i técala n?írima harma. Your writting is a beautiful treasure. Well done.

:-) Rhiannon Dariyan Daymond-King replies: "yay, someone knows Elvish!! *i Elda linda* I hate the way any accented or whatever letters turn out strange on this computer... e with an accent turns into a question mark and so on... so you can't get to one page properly, the Edheli Utulie story. the address is all the normal stuff, like one of my other stories, but with edheliutulie.html.html spelled with the e with a diaresis or umlaut on top, which is alt-0235. I hope that works then. thanks!"

So they decided my story with Elves in was 'not suitable for another reason' and didn't put it up. I really cannot fathom why. Nor can I understand why they did not put my poem 'Lifebond' up when it is clearly much more about fantasy than the one they DID put up, 'Mindshadow'. I will put 'Lifebond' up on my poetry site at http://www.geocities.com/avonderiel_tran_amantharel/index.html (or lifebond.html) I'll try and put my story up there as well or at least with a link.
