SciFi and Fantasy Art Out of the Woods by Benjamin James Redant

Felt like changing up subject matter a bit, and trying my hand at some backgrounds (no matter how insignificant). This fellow is an ancient druid who, on this rare occasion, is stepping out of the woods. He views you with suspicion, as any protector of the wilderness would. Done with my usual set of pencils on computer paper, I used an old black and white photograph of Gabriel Dumont for the face. He was one of the Metis people to fight alongside Louis Riel (those unfamiliar with Canadian history are now lost by this point, so I digress). I'm not completely satisfied with it, but it didn't take long, so I'm not beyond the point where I'm willing to make alterations. Constructive comments on how to improve it are appreciated. Thanks! ***NOTE*** Also updated this picture. I put in a bunch more work on the face and worked on his staff hand some.

3 Jan 2004	Julia Hayn	Loading... I think this is my favorite picture at this gallery. He looks exactly like a druid have to look. Yes, his hand is a little bit failed, but I myself have problems to draw hands, too.
