Ben Redant was born in 1979 in Yorkton, Saskatchewan to parents who raised him to never put all his eggs into one basket. As well as being forced for 5 years (the next 10 he did willingly) to play the piano, his mother encouraged in him the desire to draw.
His preferred medium is pencil on paper (specifically, number 2 pencil on old, perforated computer paper) though he occasionally works in other mediums as well, usually different coloured pencils on non-perforated computer paper. Later on in life, Ben decided to pursue a career in acting, which has led him to the University of Regina Acting program, of which he is currently in his fourth year of study.
Though generally well-regarded by his peers and professors alike, Ben has become reputed as an 'Enfant Terrible' of the department, and once faced academic discipline for hitting the books. Though, cooler heads prevailed when it was clarified that 'hitting the books' was simply a figure of speech.
Ben can often be found stacking things on top of other things, scribbling innane poetry, alphabetizing his groceries, and drinking chocolate milk in heroic quantities.
When asked what he wants to do for a living, Ben gets kind of a puzzled expression and then quickly changes the subject, blocking any further interrogation with fits of coughing, and loud exlamations of 'Oh my God! What is that thing behind you!' and running away while attention is temporarily diverted.
As a side note to all this insanity, I do currently do commissions, though with my current schedule, there might be a bit of a wait on them. I also will allow my artwork to be used, if permission is asked, and if it is being used for something I approve of (just send me an e-mail, if you'd like to find out!) And, finally, I will consider selling copies of the artwork shown here, if the amount offered is sufficient (Hey, I'm attached to these drawings, and I gotta eat).
Now that the capitalism is behind us, lets move onto the drawings...
